Summer Water Polo Development Camp
Tollcross International Swimming Centre,
12th-13th August 2023.
The Summer Water Polo Development Camp is back for 2023 following our highly successful camps last September and January with over 100 participants from all of Scotland’s clubs taking part.
We are offering both single day and full weekend options to best meet the budgets of all of the players and again those who have participated in previous camps have been given a very generous 18% discount if booking the full weekend option.
This year we are providing a mix of top class professional coaching from Italian club, Bogliasco, who will be sending both their Head female coach, Mario Sinatra and their youth coach and professional Serie A1 pro player Rosa Rogondino.
Olympic Silver Medallist, World and European Champion Mati Ortiz has now confirmed to coach at the camp.

Mati Ortiz has an impressive competitive record with both the Spanish National team and her club side CN Sabadell.
Two time Olympian, Mati won an Olympic silver medal with Spain in the 2012 London Olympics and followed that up with World Championship Gold in 2013 and European Championship Gold in 2014.
In 2017, Mati won Silver with Spain at the World Championship and in 2023 with CN Sabadell won the European Champions League.
Learning water polo from professional coaches and players can provide several benefits, including:
- Expertise: Professional water polo players have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the sport. They can provide expert instruction on technique, strategy, and tactics, helping participants improve their skills and become better players.
- Inspiration: Learning from a professional player can be a source of inspiration and motivation for aspiring water polo players. Seeing firsthand the dedication, hard work, and passion that goes into playing at a high level can inspire participants to set ambitious goals and strive for excellence.
- Mentorship: Professional players can serve as mentors and role models for younger players. By sharing their own experiences and insights, they can help participants develop their own personal character and leadership skills.
- Networking: Learning from a professional player can provide opportunities for networking and connecting with other players, coaches, and industry professionals. This can be valuable for those interested in pursuing a career in water polo or sports in general.

The Winter Water Polo Development Camp (WWPDC) is an independent initiative
by Kirkintilloch and Kilsyth ASC and open to all the clubs.
The WWPDC brings world class water polo to Scotland, offering a great opportunity to youth players to experience this at home.
WWPDC is run by world class players Mario Sanatra and Rosa Rogondino with the help of local coaches. WWPDC focuses on technique, role-specific drills, shooting, game tactics and man up.
The programme is designed to be intense, featuring a weekend of pool activities at Tollcross International Swimming Centre (50m pool), dry sessions, lectures and Q&A with Thomas and Brigitte.
This year the programme has been expanded to provide more spaces for more players and involves all athletes born 1997+, which will be split in groups depending on gender, age, and capabilities.
